AAPA Local Chapters

AAPA already has three affiliated local chapters: in Chicago, Illinois; Washington, D.C.; and Anchorage, Alaska. Each chapter operates autonomously within the AAPA National Policy Guidelines and assumes their non-profit status. This means each individual chapter operates independently and does not have a direct financial relationship with AAPA. Both chapters and the national organization share and support the same goals, which include the most important goal of education within the payroll profession.

Local chapters work in conjunction with AAPA to provide outstanding networking, education opportunities, and professional development resources through chapter meetings, statewide/regional conferences, and community outreach.  Affiliated chapters support AAPA's mission and encourage national membership and participation, while promoting educational growth and unity in their profession to their local communities.

Board of Advisors

In conjunction with AAPA's sister association, American Payroll Association (APA), eight separate regions have been divided across the nation. Each Board of Advisor (BOA) is assigned to one region for a two year term. During their term, BOAs serve as the chapter's voice to APA/AAPA's Board of Directors and the national associations. They make recommendations based on their chapters' input to enhance the relationship between national and local chapters. Each BOA is available to offer support and mentoring to chapters within their region. To contact your region's Board of Advisor, please e-mail Chapter Relations.
